Country Calendar – 50th Anniversary
Country Calendar first aired on March 6, 1966, and is New Zealand’s longest-running TV show and the second-longest running show in the world after the UK’s Coronation Street.
Over the years, the programme has found a special place in New Zealanders’ hearts and the landmark episode is a chance to recognise the real stars of the series – the people who work the land.
2016 marks a milestone for Country Calendar as it celebrates its 50th birthday in March, and airs a one-hour special to kick off the 2016 series. This programme will revisit rural families who have previously featured on the show to see what they’re up to today.
A Three-DVD collection comprised of episodes spanning fifty years of Country Calendar. These episodes have never been released previously on DVD and will include the very first episode that aired on March 6, 1966 through to the special celebration episode, 50 years later.
