London based Norwegian musician and singer-songwriter Anna Lela Bruland composes delicately bold lo-fi-inspired alternative rock under the alias EERA.
The elegantly raw Reflection of Youth explores newfound territory, leaping into the world of punchy guitar lines, barren drum grooves, and raucous yet controlled instrumentation.
Obvious touchstones for Reflection of Youth are Julia Holter, Angel Olsen and Sharon Van Etten. Songs like Living and I Wanna Dance are bristly combinations of grunge, motown and indie-rock on which Bruland’s voice crests atop the fray. There is also more than a dash of PJ Harvey in the dark folk stomps of Survived and Wise Man.
