· Salami Rose Joe Louis (Lindsay Olsen) - the Bay Area based musician, composer and producer - release her new album Zdenka 2080 on Brainfeeder. It follows a busy start to the year in which she supported The Cinematic Orchestra on their European tour and joined Toro Y Moi’s Outer Peace Tour in the US.
· “This is truly a dream come true on every level,” says Salami Rose Joe Louis. “Many of the artists on Brainfeeder have been my musical heroes for years and to join a collective comprising of such visionaries is an ultimate fantasy. I greatly admire the fearlessness and creative integrity of the artists on Brainfeeder: they are willing to take risks, ask important questions, and let their freakiness shine through, which to me is paramount and inspires a generation to challenge the script.”
· Olsen references musical giants Herbie Hancock and Shuggie Otis plus the likes of J Dilla, Flying Lotus and Stereolab as ever present influences. “I remember the first time listening to George Clinton as a kid,” she recalls. “It was as if a portal to a new dimension of existence opened up. If in my career, I can even come a tiny bit close to opening up dimensions for listeners, I will be a happy human!”
· Olsen’s music is highly conceptual and Zdenka 2080 describes a future dystopian Earth in the year 2080 that has been mismanaged by unethical governments and corporations.
