Now, Tycho unveils a wholly new iteration of sound with the highly anticipated release of their fifth studio album - Weather. In many ways, Weather is the culmination of Tycho’s career as a whole – each prior step taken with intention to land on this new creative ground. The past 13 years have seen Tycho evolve from a part-time solo project into a massively successful band. The music, too, has fallen in line with this steep trajectory, and each release has introduced new elements, ever expanding into untouched sonic territory. Weather sees Hansen both consolidating Tycho’s position and evolving the project in exciting new ways.
For Scott Hansen’s latest record as Tycho, the San Franciscan artist has decided to bring a new element into play - the human voice. While Tycho’s sound has always been rich in melody, Weather marks the first time that Hansen has put vocals centre stage. The sonic shift has been enhanced by the collaboration with exciting new vocalist Saint Sinner (Hannah Cottrell).
Weather intends to reveal a more human side to the music, with the vocal and lyrical components adding a whole new dimension of warmth and life.
