A staggering 37 tracks of Kiwi – Beatle inspired Beat music from 1963–1966. These are the groups who formed or changed direction after being inspired by The Beatles and Merseybeat. It is safe to say that “The history of contemporary music in New Zealand starts right here”.
All of a sudden we were writing our own songs as studio facilities and production staff started to meet the standards required to make records of international standards, which opened the door for successive generations of Kiwi musicians with the effects still being felt in the industry today.
The emphasis of this collection is on 3 part harmonies, 3 piece suits, twangy guitars and lots of YEAH YEAH YEAH’S…oh and lots of fun!
