Wood solitaire, also known as peg solitaire or Solo Noble, is a single-player strategy game typically played on a board with pegs or marbles. The goal is to remove as many pegs as possible, ideally leaving just one peg on the board.
The game is played on a board with holes or slots in which pegs are placed. The standard board is shaped like a cross, with 33 holes and pegs filling all holes except one, typically the center hole.
Pegs can be moved by jumping over them with an adjacent peg horizontally or vertically, similar to how pieces move in checkers. The peg that's jumped over is removed from the board.
The goal is to eliminate as many pegs as possible by jumping over them until no more moves are possible. The ideal outcome is to end up with a single peg left on the board.
